Course Match - Fall 2015

Course Match for the fall of 2015 will open next week on Wednesday, April 22. The deadline for entering utilities is Monday, August 17, 2015 at 12:00pm (noon).

While the official deadline is not until August 17 at noon we strongly encourage that you enter utilities before leaving campus for the summer. You can change those utilities as many times as you like through Monday, August 17 at noon or just leave that original set alone.

The MBA Program Office of Academic Affairs will send an email with important Course Match announcements on Wednesday. Any updates will be compiled and sent to the class during the summer.

...did we mention that the deadline for entering utilities is Monday, August 17, 2015 at 12:00pm (noon)?

White House Fellows Program Info Session: Monday, 4/20, 4:30pm in JMHH 345

Date: Monday, April 20, 2015

Time: 4:30pm

Place: The Wharton School, 3730 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, Pa 19104 (Jon M. Huntsman Hall Room 345)

The White House Fellows Program, founded in 1964 by President Lyndon Johnson at the suggestion of his Health, Education and Welfare Secretary John W. Gardner, is America's most prestigious program for leadership and public service, offering exceptional men and women first-hand experience working at the highest levels of the federal government.  White House Fellows typically spend a year working as full-time, paid special assistants to senior White House Staff, the Vice President, Cabinet Secretaries and other top-ranking government officials. Fellows also participate in a once-in-a-lifetime education program consisting of off-the-record, roundtable discussions with renowned leaders from the private and public sectors, and take trips to study leaders and policy in action both domestically and internationally. Fellowships are awarded on a strictly non-partisan basis.

The program has fostered a legacy of leadership, with nearly 600 alumni who are respected leaders in a variety of fields and professions.  Alumni include former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, General Wesley Clark, Senator Sam Brownback, former CNN President Tom Johnson, Levi Strauss & Co CEO Robert Haas, former NBC Chairman Jane Pfeiffer, Wall St. Journal Editorial Page Editor Paul Gigot, CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta, former Senator Tim Wirth, former National Security Advisor Robert McFarlane, former Tenneco CEO Dana Mead, Court of Appeals Judges Deanell Tacha and Margaret McKeown, and author Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Immunization and Financial Hold Notice

Students  who owe over $1000 and students on immunization hold will not have access to Fall 2015 Course Match when it opens next week.

If you have questions, please contact Barbara in 300 Huntsman or email her at goldsteb@wharton.upenn.edu.

Curricular Practical Training

International students who will have an internship or work in the US (paid or unpaid) will require work authorization. F-1 students can satisfy this requirement through either Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT). Most students will elect to use CPT as it does not use up the allotted OPT time. The MBA Program Office will offer a summer online course that satisfies the CPT requirement, MGMT891:900. To register for the MGMT 891 class, students are required to watch a 9 minute video which provides details about the course content and registration, and instructions on how to apply for CPT work authorization. Registration for Summer 2015 CPT is now open (Please do not apply for CPT through ISSS until your course registration is complete). Please use the Curricular Practical Training link on SPIKE to begin the process.
