Students participating in a full-semester exchange are expected to complete coursework equivalent to four Wharton course units (CUs). Half-semester exchanges require the equivalent of two Wharton CUs. All exchange coursework is considered elective credit and may not be applied toward Wharton core, flexible core, or major requirements.
All student who participate in an International Exchange, must declare and complete the requirements for the Global Experience Concentration.
Additional academic policies include:
- Exchange coursework appears on the Wharton transcript as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (Pass/Fail)
- Students on academic probation, with failed coursework, or with ethics violations are not eligible to participate
- Students may not repeat courses abroad that they have already completed at Wharton
- MBA students may apply up to six course units earned outside Wharton toward the MBA degree, with at least 15 course units completed at Wharton
- Students exceeding the 21-course-unit maximum for the MBA program will be billed for additional tuition
