CORE REQUIREMENT & PREPARATION GUIDES

Before completing the Evaluation Module, read through the criteria for every subject.  If you feel that you have met the criteria for a subject please gather the credentials required for it as you will be asked to upload them at the conclusion of the subject decision tree.  If your credentials were declined in the Pre-Evaluation period, you may complete the decision tree for the subject and upload the required credentials for review during Evaluation Period 1 and 2.

Materials for submission may include:

  • Academic transcripts from previous degrees
  • Syllabi for classes
  • Professional certification documentation (e.g. CPA, CFA, etc.)

DISABILITY ACCOMMODATIONS

If you qualify for disability accommodations and would like to use them for a waiver or placement assessment, you must apply through the Office of Disability Services (Weingarten Center) and have your accommodations fully approved by July 27 in order for them to be in place for the August 3 exams.

Please note that the approval process—including scheduling an appointment—may take more than two weeks. To meet the July 27 approval deadline, we strongly encourage you to begin the process as early as possible. To learn more and apply, please visit the Weingarten Center website.

EXAM ADMINISTRATION

Exam Timeslots:

All exams will be administered in person on campus in Philadelphia on Monday, August 3.  No alternate exam dates or make-up sessions will be offered under any circumstances.

The deadline to register for an exam is Monday, July 27, 2026.

If you have any questions or concerns about registration, please contact mbaprogram@wharton.upenn.edu.

Statistics Waiver Exam Timing and Duration:

The STAT 6210 Placement Exam is the first half (1 hour) of the STAT 6130 Waiver Exam (2 hours). You do not need to register for or take two exams.
Taking the waiver exam does not preclude you from placing into STAT 6210 – you will be evaluated for both via the one 2 hour exam. If you do not score high enough to waive STAT 6130, you may still score high enough to place into STAT 6210.

Technology:

The STAT 6130/6210 and ACCT 6110 will administered via the Canvas platform. Students must bring their own device to access the exam. You will need a Mac or Windows laptop (Linux and Android devices are not supported). Limited functionality is available for Surface Pro tablets. Additional information on devices can be found here.

Students who are taking either of these exams must download LockDown Browser on their device beforehand. Please see instructions here.
